A Doctor’s point of view about retirement

Mark and Lisa and their 2 charming kids are enjoying a holiday in the same RV park here in San Diego. Mark works as an ER physician in Scottsdale, Arizona. We shared with them that our passion is talking about the need for a purpose during retirement.

Mark’s comments: “I often see this in my practice. Seniors come in who are depressed and despondent. I tell them, ‘Get a life, get involved, do something!’ ”

Visiting with Joanne’s aunt and uncle confirmed this once again. George has been a minister his entire life, with Lily his capable and loving partner. George and Lily are now part of a weekly spiritual group where George leads the discussions and they both feel they are making a contribution.

Purpose provides the juice that makes our lives flow.
