Having a purpose

Hugh talked with Sam today, who related the story of his father-in-law, a successful surgeon who was forced to retire. He was devastated. He told his daughter, “When I retire, I feel like my brain won’t be active and I’ll have a stroke.”

In fact, this was a self fulfilling prophecy. Within a year he died of a stroke.

It is imperative that we have a purpose as we consider retirement. We continue to need to feel worthwhile throughout our lives. Find yours and relish it!
